Week Two: Shelves, Spells, and Decision Paralysis

Week Two: Shelves, Spells, and Decision Paralysis

If week one was about diving headfirst into small business ownership, week two has been about… staring at my cart like it’s going to whisper the answers back to me.

I’ve been taking a ton of product photos (because what’s an online shop without endless photoshoots where the items look like supermodels?). I’ve also been deep in the world of sourcing online exclusives -- tracking down really cool, magical brands to feature as in the digital shop. It’s like matchmaking: finding pieces that fit perfectly with the vibe of WhichCraft Studio while also bringing in new energy from creators all over the world.

The hard part? Decision paralysis. I’m officially at the stage where every purchase feels monumental. Do I bring in this mug or that one? Is this crystal candle “the one,” or should I keep searching? With the IRL shop October 1st launch date creeping closer, the pressure is real. But I’d rather stress now than open the doors to a shop that feels “fine.” I don’t want “fine.” I want shelves that tell a story, every single item chosen with intention.

So yeah -- exhilarating, terrifying, diet coke-fueled déjà vu from last week… but with more cardboard boxes piling up and a camera roll full of product shots.

One thing’s for sure: the shop is becoming realer every day. And even though the decisions are tough, this part -- the curating, the choosing, the crafting of the vibe -- is the magic I dreamed of when I first said, “let’s do this.”

Stay tuned. October is coming fast, and this cauldron is just starting to bubble.
