The Harvest Supermoon: Big Light, Big Magic
Share
If the moon feels extra bright tonight, that’s because she is. We’ve got ourselves a Harvest Supermoon, the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, and one that’s showing off just a little (okay, a lot).
A Supermoon happens when the moon’s orbit brings her closest to Earth, so she looks bigger and glows brighter. The Harvest Moon part? That’s an old name for the full moon that farmers used to mark the time to bring in their crops. So basically, this is the do the work, reap the rewards, light-up-the-sky kind of moon.
Spiritually, the Harvest Supermoon is about abundance, gratitude, and release. It’s the perfect moment to pause, take stock, and say “wow, look how far I’ve come.” (Even if you’re still surrounded by boxes, spreadsheets, and half-finished projects...hi, it’s me.)
Here’s a few easy ways to work with the energy tonight:
🌕 Gratitude Ritual - Write down five things that have grown in your life this season, big or small. Keep it, burn it, or tuck it under a candle as a quiet thank-you to the universe.
🌾 Harvest Something - Literally or metaphorically. Pick apples, snip herbs, or finally wrap up that project you’ve been dragging your feet on. The energy is all about completion and reward.
🕯 Light + Release – As the moon rises, light a candle and think about what you’re ready to let go of before the darker months ahead. Let the glow remind you that endings make space for what’s next.
🍷 Celebrate the Work – Whether that’s a dinner with friends, a cozy night in, or a quiet toast with your favorite drink, honor yourself for what you’ve created, built, or simply survived this season.
The Harvest Supermoon reminds us that there’s beauty in the messy middle -- where things are growing, shifting, and settling all at once. It’s big, bright, and a little dramatic… just how I like my moons (and my life).
So go ahead, step outside, take a deep breath, and soak it in. The magic is hanging right above you. 🌕✨
