From Idea to “Oh No, It’s Real”

From Idea to “Oh No, It’s Real”

If you’ve ever romanticized starting your own small business, let me tell you: you’re not wrong. It’s magical. It’s also like juggling spell jars while riding a broomstick in a thunderstorm -- thrilling, a little dangerous, and best attempted with coffee.

Right now, I’m in the “prepping to open a brick-and-mortar” phase, which is basically a crash course in everything. I’m creating original artwork, vetting product, wrangling suppliers, navigating legal stuff, and asking myself at least once a day, “Wait, is this really happening?” (Spoiler: yes. And it’s happening fast.)

There’s an energy to this stage that’s hard to explain -- it’s equal parts exhilaration and mild panic. You’re building something that exists only in your head and turning it into a place people can actually walk into, touch things, and (hopefully) leave with bags full of witchy treasures.

I’ll be sharing more of the journey here -- little wins, inevitable hiccups, and the weird magic of building a shop from scratch. If nothing else, this will be a great archive to look back on and think, Wow, remember when I thought the stressful part was just getting the keys?

Here we go.
